Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking an experienced Paralegal Specialist to support patent litigation and related proceedings in a hybrid Washington DC area office. You will assist attorneys with discovery, deposition prep, and document management across complex matters.

You will coordinate with clients, external counsel, and vendors while handling large datasets and ensuring timely, accurate work product. A strong background in patent matters and docketing is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills required.
• Strong analytic abilities and independent judgment for resolution.
• Strong writing, verbal and interpersonal skills for interaction with staff and clients.
• Ability to manage large volumes of documents and data across databases.
• Experience with patent and trademark docketing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support in all phases of patent litigation including discovery, trial, and appeal, with lead paralegal support at trials and hearings.
• Assist with depositions, witness interviews, hearings, trials, and arbitration preparation (pretrial motions, trial binders, exhibits, discovery responses).
• Review, organize, and maintain document databases for case tracking and discovery; coordinate large document productions.
• Utilize Relativity and other litigation technology for document reviews; prepare privilege logs.
• Support patent litigation, patent appeals, and proceedings before PTAB and ITC.
