Job summary

Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP seeks a Patent Agent to join its IP Patent Litigation practice. The role supports a high‑practice IP team, with a focus on telecommunications, software, AI, and related technologies, and can be based in DC or Dallas.

The role requires USPTO admission and an advanced degree in physics, electrical or computer engineering. A hybrid work model is offered with 2–3 days onsite in Dallas.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in physics, electrical or computer engineering, or related discipline.
• Admitted to practice before the USPTO and able to work independently.
• Experience supporting patent prosecution and related litigation.
• Experience with US and foreign patent prosecution workflows.

Responsibilities

• Draft applications and responses to office actions for US and foreign applications.
• Support attorneys in post-grant proceedings (PGRs, IPRs), invalidity and non-infringement opinions.
• Assist with due diligence and freedom-to-operate studies and related patent litigation.
