Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Passive Safety Systems Integration Engineer in Palo Alto, CA. This hybrid role requires residence within commuting distance to the worksite. You will support integration of passive safety components, design HIL environments, and develop software features across hardware and cross-functional teams.

The position emphasizes crash safety analyses, supplier software testing, and vehicle packaging alignment. Domestic/international travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related field.
• 3 years of experience with each of the following skills: failure analysis and hardware systems debug using Canalyzer, PEAK Software, Oscilloscope, Multimeter, and Unix commands.
• 2 years of experience with Jira to track project timelines and milestones.

Responsibilities

• Support integration for passive safety components and develop HIL environments.
• Design passive safety software vehicle features and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Develop detailed electrical device transmittals and own documentation until production.
• Participate in crash safety, functional safety and failure analysis activities.
• Manage supplier software testing and integrate into the vehicle software package.
• Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
