Job summary

Gateway Community & Technical College invites applications for a Part-Time - Energy Utilities/Lineworker Instructor. The role focuses on entry-level line maintenance, underground and overhead wiring, substations, and switchyards, teaching in the line worker program.

Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for eight weeks; content and labs are provided, with emphasis on safety and hands-on learning. The instructor will guide provided labs, include basic pole climbing, and support students

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of industry experience in the areas being taught.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, ability to work independently and adapt to fast-paced environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-person instruction in both theoretical and practical aspects.
• Facilitate hands-on lab activities that simulate real-world environments.
• Maintain classroom and lab spaces, including tools and training materials.
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and code updates to ensure course content remains relevant.
