Job summary

John Wiley & Sons Inc. seeks a Paralegal to provide advanced legal support across vendor and technology contracts. You will negotiate, draft, and advise on global deals, maintain playbooks, and help manage regulatory requirements.

The role reports to Legal leadership and operates in a hybrid environment. Ideal candidates have a paralegal certificate or degree and strong contract experience, including MSAs, NDAs, DPAs, and bespoke agreements.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or degree, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of commercial, technology, and vendor contracts.
• Ability to negotiate and redline agreements against playbook positions and know when to elevate.
• Ability to draft bespoke agreements such as partnership, speaker, and license agreements.
• Ability to advise business and sourcing partners clearly on contract risk.
• Maintain templates, playbooks, and contract standards and apply regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate MSAs, NDAs, and DPAs with vendors and counsel.
• Draft and negotiate bespoke agreements where templates do not fit.
• Advise Global Sourcing and business partners on contract questions and strategy.
• Review supplier registration in Ariba for risk.
• Maintain the MSA Playbook, templates, and related agreements; apply regulatory changes.
• Escalate blockers to Legal leadership and assist with disputes with litigation colleagues.
• Train colleagues on contracting processes, terms, and negotiations.
• Develop and use AI-assisted tools to support contract review.
• Support other Legal teams with negotiations and drafting as needed.
