Job summary

Integrated Specialty Coverages, LLC (ISC) is seeking an underwriter to review applications, determine coverage levels, and price risk in a growing Insurtech-driven environment. The role focuses on profitability through adherence to underwriting guidelines and pricing discipline.

The position requires 1-5 years of P&C underwriting experience, professional licenses (CPCU/CIC/CRIS or similar), and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years P&C underwriting or related insurance experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn industry-specific software
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments
• Willing to work hybrid out of our Los Angeles or Carlsbad office

Responsibilities

• Adhere to underwriting guidelines and pricing strategies to maintain profitability goals.
• Approve or decline insurance applications within certain limits and issue coverage and prepare referrals for risks exceeding authority.
• Ensure underwriting activities comply with all industry and government regulations.
• Documentation of Underwriting files including risk analysis and pricing justification.
• Offer recommendations to clients on insurance applications to reduce exposure to excessive risk.
• Collaborate closely with the underwriting team to finalize insurance applications efficiently.
• Utilize multiple databases to gather data and verify submissions and leverage software to compare risks.
• Respond to customer needs with guidance tailored to their insurance needs.
• Process accounts from approved quotes through to policy issuance with accuracy and efficiency.
