Job summary

CHS Devils Lake in Lakota, ND is hiring for an Operations Specialist/Truck Driver in a hybrid role. You will drive and perform operations duties seasonally, supporting farmers, ranchers, and co-ops while ensuring on-time deliveries.

The role offers a variety of daily tasks from loading to maintenance, with opportunities to develop in a large co-op network. A CDL with Hazmat/Tanker/Air Brake endorsements is preferred, along with strong safety and customer-service focus.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Trucking Operations.
• Must meet minimum age requirement.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English and understand highway traffic signs and signals.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Maintain or be able to obtain a CDL and DOT medical card.
• Ability to work additional hours and occasional weekends to meet business demands.
• Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements preferred.
• Valid Class A CDL preferred.
• Agriculture background preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Bulk liquid, Pressure trailer, or Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare trucks and railcars for loading/unloading, which may require sampling, loosening large nuts, opening hatches, and attaching/detaching hoses.
• Load and unload agricultural inputs from railcars and/or trucks using heavy or light duty machinery.
• Conduct and properly record repairs and daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks; regularly inspect equipment.
• Monitor and maintain quality of inventory (blended, bulk or packaged).
• Deliver products such as fertilizer, chemical, seed, feed to customer sites safely and on time.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws including hours of service and load securement.
• Keep work areas and vehicles clean, orderly and safe; perform housekeeping duties.
• Perform grounds maintenance including snow removal and warehouse tasks (loader, forklift).
• Report safety concerns to supervisor promptly and maintain a strong safety culture.
