Job summary

W3Global is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction and renovation projects in Florida. The role requires interpreting drawings, specs, and documents, with emphasis on healthcare and occupied facilities.

The position combines office-based estimating with field activity, coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure cost-effective estimates and timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, labor requirements, and project costs.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Experience performing detailed material and labor takeoffs.
• Experience obtaining and analyzing subcontractor and vendor bids.
• Proficiency with construction estimating, job-costing, spreadsheet, or related software.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for commercial construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor costs, and general conditions.
• Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and other documents.
• Develop quantity takeoffs and calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor requirements.
• Research current pricing to develop competitive estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and contractors.
• Analyze project requirements, methods, and schedules to determine costs.
• Track estimated costs against actual project costs and identify variances.
• Review changes and adjust estimates accordingly.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, and teams to clarify scope and resolve estimating issues.
• Prepare estimates and cost summaries for management review, budgeting, and planning.
• Maintain records of suppliers, subcontractors, and pricing information.
• Use estimating software and spreadsheets to prepare analyses.
• Support contract negotiations and bids; conduct site visits to verify requirements.
