Job summary

W3Global is seeking an Estimating Manager for Commercial Construction in Florida. The role leads estimates from design through GMP, prepares takeoffs, and negotiates with trade partners to optimize cost and value.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in commercial estimating, strong skills in takeoff, bid management, and cost analysis, and familiarity with Florida project markets. Office-based with site visits as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive commercial construction estimating or preconstruction experience.
• Experience pricing projects from early concepts through final bids or GMP proposals.
• Estimate multiple trades and compare subcontractor proposals against drawings and specs.
• Familiar with office, retail, or healthcare facilities.
• Proficient with digital takeoff, estimating, bid-management, and spreadsheets.
• Strong communication with clients and project teams about costs and risks.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines without loss of detail.
• Knowledge of Florida construction requirements and regional subcontractor markets helpful.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.
• OSHA 10 preferred; OSHA 30 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimates at each design stage from preliminary budgets to final GMP proposals.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates across trades using drawings and data.
• Track changes between estimate versions and explain variances.
• Develop value-engineering options to meet project goals.
• Create bid packages, solicit subcontractor proposals, and negotiate pricing.
• Review bids for scope gaps, exclusions, and risks; recommend trade partners.
• Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and internal teams on constructability and schedules.
• Present estimates and cost updates to clients during preconstruction.
• Document assumptions and awarded scopes to ease transition to operations.
• Help improve estimating tools, cost data, and preconstruction processes.
