Job summary

Ascendo Resources seeks an experienced Construction Estimator in Miami to lead estimating from concept through bid. You will review plans, perform quantity takeoffs, solicit subcontractor bids, and develop detailed cost estimates for diverse projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of estimating experience, strong knowledge of costs, and proficiency with Procore, PlanSwift, and takeoff tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role.
• Experience estimating ground-up construction, renovations, tenant improvements, or commercial construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and civil plans.
• Strong knowledge of construction costs, labor rates, materials, and subcontractor pricing.
• Experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with construction estimating software.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for construction projects from conceptual design through bid submission.
• Review plans, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documents.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and vendor bids.
• Develop detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, inconsistencies, and potential cost risks.
• Analyze subcontractor proposals and negotiate pricing when appropriate.
• Maintain and update estimating databases, cost histories, and pricing information.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Architects, Engineers, and subcontractors to clarify project scope.
• Assist with value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs.
• Prepare bid summaries and present estimates to senior management.
• Track market pricing, labor costs, material costs, and subcontractor availability.
• Support project handoff from estimating/preconstruction to the operations and project management teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation throughout the estimating process.

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join a growing construction organization in Miami. This position is focused specifically on construction estimating and preconstruction, working closely with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and operations teams to develop accurate and competitive project estimates.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of construction costs, subcontractor pricing, takeoffs, bid preparation, and project scopes. Experience estimating commercial, hospitality, multifamily, residential, or general construction projects is highly valued.
