Job summary

Azarkian Architecture P.C. in New York, NY is seeking a seasoned architect to lead the preparation and revision of architectural drawings for site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.

You will ensure compliance with NYC zoning and building codes while coordinating permit applications and DOB filings. You will mentor junior team members, review agency comments, and perform zoning analyses for commercial and hospitality projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture.
• 5+ years of experience with NYC Building Code, Zoning Resolution, and DOB filing processes.
• Experience on commercial and hospitality projects.
• Experience coordinating DOB filings through approvals.
• Advanced AutoCAD proficiency required.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam.
• Tech-savvy with digital project management tools.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with in-house architects, coordinators, and expeditors to develop comprehensive drawing sets compliant with NYC agency standards.
• Lead and oversee preparation and revision of drawings for site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
• Ensure compliance with zoning and building codes and related regulations.
• Prepare and coordinate permit applications and DOB filings.
• Coordinate with expeditors to track permit progress and resolve issues.
• Review and respond to agency comments and feedback.
• Perform zoning reviews and code analyses for projects.
• Mentor junior staff and assist quality control reviews.
• Conduct onsite construction conformance inspections.
• Maintain accurate project documentation.
