Job summary

CitizensNYC, a longstanding nonprofit in New York City, seeks a Program Associate, Community Engagement to design workshops, coordinate events, and support grant programs. This hybrid role involves weekly office presence and flexible outreach to neighborhood leaders across all five boroughs.

Reporting to the VP of Programs, the role emphasizes data management in Salesforce and Airtable, plus strong facilitation and community engagement across diverse groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in event coordination, outreach, workshop facilitation, or program support.
• Must be organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects.
• Familiar with Salesforce, FormAssembly, Excel, and Airtable, including data management and basic automations.
• Strong communication skills with ability to facilitate group discussions and engage diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, and facilitate in-person and virtual workshops and community convenings.
• Lead outreach to grantee partners and local leaders, including evening/weekend availability during peak cycles.
• Assist with grant review processes and coordinate orientations, check-ins, and reporting for grantees.
• Record and manage data in Salesforce and FormAssembly; generate reports on participation and impact.
