Job summary

NineDot Energy is seeking a Community Impact Associate in Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid) to support community engagement for clean energy projects. You will coordinate outreach, attend meetings, and help ensure timely responses to community questions while tracking milestones and reporting insights.

The role emphasizes building relationships with residents, advocates, and officials, with travel as needed and a focus on environmental justice and community impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, environmental studies, urban planning, political science, or a related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience in community engagement or organizing, government relations, public affairs, or real estate development.
• Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with experience in data tracking and reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Airtable is a plus.
• Willingness to travel locally for community meetings and events (approx. once a week, sometimes on weekends).
• Interest in renewable energy, environmental justice, and community impact.

Responsibilities

• Community engagement and outreach: identify communities, schedule meetings, distribute materials, and engage stakeholders.
• Data tracking and coordination: document feedback, maintain records in databases, and prepare reports.
• Collaborate with development, engineering, legal, and marketing to respond to inquiries.
• Track construction schedules and align engagement with project timelines.
• Assist in preparing presentations to highlight community impact.
