Job summary

Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking a Northern Forest Restoration Project Coordinator for a contract role in the Western District (Dalton). The incumbent will oversee the Windsor Brook Restoration project, coordinate with engineering firms, and help identify restoration opportunities across Wildlife Management Areas in the Northern Forest region.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with restoration projects and project management.
• Understanding of the concepts of habitat restoration.
• Experience working outdoors and alone.
• Ability to work independently and accomplish tasks with limited supervision.
• Experience with Massachusetts permitting included but not limited to the Wetland Protection Act.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Access, Excel, and Word.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic with great attention to detail, and a strong interest in natural resource management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Windsor Brook Restoration project implementation and ensure completion by Dec 2027.
• Collect baseline environmental assessments before work to establish pre-construction conditions.
• Ensure permitting and construction stay on schedule.
• Attend permitting meetings and communicate with community and partners.
• Collaborate with Outreach and Education to highlight project success.
• Keep staff and partners informed of project status through regular communication.
