Job summary

Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA) seeks a Network Specialist to join the HMSA Technical Services - Network Team on Oahu. The role focuses on maintaining and supporting HMSA's network infrastructure while leading or contributing to multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent work experience in IT.
• Three years of relevant information technology work experience.
• Substitutions such as higher degree or certifications may be considered.
• Expertise in Cisco/Aruba, load balancers, firewalls, VPN, data center, cloud computing, scripting, monitoring tools, and documentation.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Operate and support HMSA's network infrastructure and projects.
• Ensure network reliability and implement enhancements.
• Configure, document, and update network configurations.
• Operate and maintain network monitoring tools and analyze capacity.
• Perform packet captures and analyze across locations.
• Maintain system security and conduct vulnerability management.
• Execute contingency plans including backup/restoration and on-call support as needed.
