Job summary
Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics is seeking a Principal Software Engineer focused on software architecture for naval electronics infrastructure. You will lead architecture and design for sensor and combat system integration on surface vessels, applying expertise in FEOTB, IRAD, and development programs across camera, video, gimbal, sensors, networking, and edge AI domains.

Qualifications
- Master or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with strong software engineering experience.
- Experience in multi-disciplinary Agile Scrum environments.
- Proficiency in software architecture modeling with tools like Sparx Enterprise Architect.
Responsibilities
- Lead software architecture and design for combat systems on naval vessels.
- Develop and maintain software architecture using UML and SOSA standards.
- Author requirements, estimate efforts, and support RFI/RFP responses.
- Mentor engineers, manage development environments (VMs, containers, Linux).
- Coordinate with IRAD and development programs on sensor, video, and network subsystems.
