Job summary

Advocates Legal Recruiting is recruiting on behalf of an AmLaw 100 client for a midlevel Antitrust Associate to join a national practice spanning Seattle, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Chicago, and Washington DC. The role involves federal and state antitrust litigation, government investigations, merger reviews, and advising on pricing and distribution strategies.

A J.D. from a top law school and admission in a relevant jurisdiction are required, with 3–5 years of antitrust experience.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of antitrust experience, ideally a mix of litigation and counseling.
• Background at an AmLaw 100 firm or in the Antitrust Division of the DOJ or the FTC.
• Strong research and writing skills, with experience drafting motions, briefs, or substantive memos that partners rely on.
• Solid grounding in federal and state antitrust and unfair competition laws.
• Comfortable managing discovery, coordinating with economists, and communicating directly with clients, HSR counseling, and Second Request experience are all positives but not strict require
• You must have a J.D. from a top law school and be admitted, or willing to become admitted in the jurisdiction in which you sit.

Responsibilities

• Antitrust litigation in federal and state courts, including class actions and competitor suits.
• Government investigations and agency advocacy before the DOJ and FTC.
• Counseling on pricing, distribution, joint ventures, and other day-to-day competition issues.
• Merger HSR analysis and Second Request support for strategic transactions.
• Opportunities to work on matters at the intersection of technology and antitrust.
• Midlevel associates have workstreams, take ownership of written advocacy, and work directly with partners and clients.
