Job summary

Georgia Connections Academy is seeking a Certified Middle School Special Education Social Studies Teacher to deliver high-quality virtual instruction from the Duluth, GA office and a home office within Georgia. You will use the Pearson Online Classroom to engage students with synchronous and asynchronous lessons, data-driven planning, and ongoing family communication.

The role requires collaboration with Special Education staff, Advisory Teachers, and families, plus travel for state testing

Qualifications

• Possess a Georgia teaching certification in the subject area.
• Must have a Georgia Clearance Certificate or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
• Strong technology skills with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Highly organized and punctual; ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality synchronous and asynchronous instruction aligned to state standards.
• Provide differentiated Tier 1 instruction and plan Tier 2/3 interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement accommodations with fidelity.
• Use data to diagnose learning needs, plan instruction, monitor progress, and adjust strategies.
• Engage families, conduct conferences, and manage communication regarding progress and attendance.
