Job summary

Labor Credit Union in Washington, DC is seeking an Engagement Officer to maximize lending and sales opportunities by engaging with members who apply for credit and memberships, including auto, personal loans, credit cards and HELOCs. You will promote deposit products and provide quality service.

The role requires at least 2 years in lending/sales, NMLS eligibility, strong Microsoft Office skills, and a passion for member experience. This is a hybrid position with growth potential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; college preferred.
• At least 2 years in a consultative consumer lending or sales environment.
• 2 years’ experience in a financial institution, preferably credit union.
• Active NMLS license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; ready to use digital credit apps.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Consult with members on lending needs by building rapport and trust
• Engage with members across channels to address financial goals
• Educate members on loan terms and ancillary products
• Review loan applications for completeness
• Follow underwriting and processing procedures
• Ensure compliance with FCRA, MLA, ECOA, TILA, FHA, BSA/AML, OFAC
• Schedule and facilitate loan closings
• Identify and recommend suitable products and services
• Cross-sell products to enhance member relationships
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge
• Attend training and maintain licenses
• Adhere to internal policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned.
