Job summary

Logix Federal Credit Union is seeking a Consumer Web Loan Officer to manage loan inquiries from the Consumer Web Application workflow, assess members' credit needs, and deliver an exceptional member experience.

You will identify cross-sell opportunities, refer to business partners, and deepen member relationships while ensuring fraud prevention and policy compliance. This role requires at least 1 year of consumer lending experience and a preference for a 4-year degree.

Qualifications

• Superior oral and written communication, telephone etiquette.

• Knowledge of credit union systems, policies and procedures is a plus.
• NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator license required within 6 months of start.

Responsibilities

• Cultivates strong member relationships by providing high-quality sales and service, identifying financial needs, and recommending appropriate financial products.
• Promotes and sells financial products and refers opportunities for non-consumer loans (e.g., real estate, commercial loans).
• Executes member experience protocols and refers opportunities to partner teams.
• Processes member consumer web applications, including loan funding documentation.
• Reviews credit reports to deepen member relationships with tailored products and services.
• Uses credit scoring and compliant lending practices to make decisions; explains denials when needed.
• Responds promptly to member inquiries via phone, SMS, or email.
• Performs interviews to gather information for underwriting and verification of documents.
• Reads income documents to assess qualifications for underwriting.
• Ensures compliance with laws and Credit Union policies; assists audits as required.
• Participates in staff development for sales, service, and teamwork.
• Reports to work on time and performs other duties as assigned.

The Consumer Web Loan Officer is responsible for managing and processing loan inquiries from the Consumer Web Application workflow, identifying members' credit needs, and delivering exceptional member experience. This includes acting as an advisor to identify additional cross sell opportunities, referrals to business partners and deepening member relationships, while ensuring fraud prevention and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

• Cultivates strong member relationships by providing high-quality sales and service, identifying financial needs, and recommending appropriate financial products and services to members and non-members.
• Supports department sales goals by actively promoting and selling financial products (savings, depository accounts, consumer loans, and insurance) and referring cross-sell opportunities for non-consumer loan products (e.g., real estate, commercial loans).
• Executes the Credit Union’s Member Experience protocols, assessing member financial needs and identifying referral opportunities for business partners such as Financial Consultants, Business Banking, Insurance Services, and Virtual Financial Service Officers.
• Efficiently processes member consumer web applications, ensuring accurate and timely completion, including loan funding and related documentation.
• Conducts thorough reviews of credit reports to uncover opportunities to deepen member relationships with tailored products and services.
• Uses credit scoring, sound lending practices, regulatory knowledge, and judgment to make lending decisions. Clearly explains denials and explores alternative options for members when loans are declined.
• Responds promptly to member inquiries via telephone, credit union SMS, or email to ensure effective communication.
• Performs member interviews to gather and clarify information, resolve discrepancies, and verify documentation required for underwriting, ensuring accuracy and fraud prevention.
• Reads and analyzes income documentation to assess financial qualifications to support underwriters in assessing applications.
• Ensures compliance with all laws, regulations, and Credit Union policies, including Fair Credit Lending Practices, and assists with audits when required.
• Participates in staff development programs to enhance skills in sales, service, and teamwork.
• Consistently reports to work on time and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• 4 Year / Bachelors Degree preferred.

Experience

• Must have sales experience and at least 1 year of consumer lending experience with a thorough working knowledge of related regulations.

Knowledge, Skills & Ability

• Have superior oral and written communication skills as well as excellent telephone manners and technique using a headset.
• Have a thorough working knowledge of depository & loan products, services, insurance of accounts, account vesting, consumer lending
• Have a working knowledge of verifying and understanding income documentation
• Has the ability to multi-task working in multiple systems simultaneously.
• Knowledge of credit union systems, documents, reports, policies and procedures a plus.
• Actively registered or must obtain within 6 months Mortgage Loan Originator with the NMLS
• Successful completion of training and obtain the following licenses, skills and authorities within 6 months of entering the position: New Hire Training, New Accounts, Consumer Loan Training program, Membership Officer Authority, Contact Center Basics
• Successful completion of the Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) within 9 months of entering the position.

Starting from USD $45,000.00/Yr.

Base Pay
