Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a Medical Data Analyst / Outpatient Coder to join a world-class clinical coding team in Midtown Manhattan. This hybrid, full-time role involves inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient coding across multiple settings.

You will review records, assign ICD-10CM/HCPCS, collaborate with physicians, and prepare abstracts for registries while enjoying competitive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• College level course in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• 2-3 years medical record experience essential, preferably in an acute care, computerized environment.
• 1-2 years demonstrated coding experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ICD-10CM, HCPCS, and applicable APR/DRG grouper coding schemes.
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with clinical information systems for accessing health information in an electronic environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and procedural coding for inpatients, ambulatory surgery and outpatients.
• Review and analyze medical records to assign attending physician and clinical service.
• Communicate with physicians to clarify documentation related to APC or coding assignment.
• Prepare abstract information for mandated hospital, state, and federal registries and resubmit data as needed.
