Responsibilities

• Audits records to ensure proper submission of services prior to billing on pre-determined charges.
• Receives hospital information to properly bill provider services for hospital patients.
• Provides correct ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes for diagnoses.
• Provides correct HCPCS code on procedures and services performed.
• Provides correct CPT code on procedures and services performed.
• Contacts providers to train and update them with coding information.
• Attends seminars to stay current on coding issues.
• Audits medical records to ensure correct coding and regulatory compliance.
• Ensures final diagnoses and procedures match physician documentation.
• Analyzes documentation to assign appropriate E&M levels with CPT codes.
• Reviews billing edits and corrects based on documentation and medical necessity.
• Performs other related duties as needed.
