Mercy Urgent Care in Waynesville, NC, is seeking a Medical Assistant (Inc. Limited X-Ray/Front Desk) for a cross-trained role blending front desk registration, clinical MA duties, and limited X-ray responsibilities.

You will rotate between patient access and clinical tasks to support a fast-paced urgent care environment. The role requires a CMA or Radiologic Technologist credential, 1–3 years of direct patient care, and comfort using an EMR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Medical Assistant credential required, or Radiologic Technologist/Radiology Assistant.
• 1–3 years of direct patient care experience preferred.
• Willingness to cross-train in limited-scope radiology; X-ray experience is a plus.
• Proficient computer skills and experience with electronic medical records.
• Knowledge of insurance verification, registration, and payment collection preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance at front desk.
• Assist providers with patient care tasks and procedures.
• Perform limited radiology following safety protocols.
• Maintain clean front desk, waiting, and treatment areas.
• Follow HIPAA and radiation safety protocols.
