Mercy Urgent Care in Asheville, NC is hiring a Medical Assistant - Limited X-Ray with a mix of front desk registration and clinical duties, including limited radiology. The role requires cross-training, patient-focused service, and teamwork in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Medical Assistant required.
• 1–3 years of direct patient care experience preferred; experience in a medical office, patient registration, or healthcare customer service is a plus.
• Ability and willingness to complete cross-training in limited-scope radiology; prior X-ray experience is a plus.
• Strong computer and communication skills, including comfort using an electronic medical record
• Working knowledge of insurance verification, registration, and payment collection preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including frequent standing and walking and light lifting up to 20lbs, with reasonable accommodations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Front Desk and Patient Access: Welcome patients and visitors, register patients, verify insurance eligibility, collect payments, and update records with HIPAA standards.
• Clinical Care: Escort patients, obtain vital signs, document health history, assist providers, and support waived lab testing and related tasks.
• Limited Radiology: Training to perform limited-scope X-rays, position patients, verify orders, and document exams.
• Clinic Operations and Safety: Maintain clean front desk and treatment areas, assist with opening/closing, inventory, and infection control procedures.
