Mercy Urgent Care in Asheville, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant (Includes Limited X-Ray and Front Desk) for PRN coverage. The role blends front desk registration, clinical MA tasks, and limited radiology to support a busy clinic.

The successful candidate will welcome patients, verify insurance, take vital signs, assist providers, and help with basic testing while maintaining HIPAA standards. This position requires flexibility and teamwork in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Medical Assistant or Radiologic Technologist/ Radiology Assistant.
• 1-3 years patient care preferred; healthcare front desk/registration experience a plus.
• Willingness to cross-train in limited-scope radiology; X-ray experience a plus.
• Strong computer and communication skills, including EMR.
• Knowledge of insurance verification, registration, and payment collection preferred.
• Ability to meet physical demands including standing, walking, light lifting up to 20 lbs.

Responsabilidades

• Front Desk and Patient Access: Welcome patients, register accurately, verify insurance, collect payments, answer phones, update EMR while HIPAA-compliant.
• Clinical Care: Take vital signs, document health history, assist providers, support waived lab testing, drug screens, spirometry, and telehealth triage.
• Limited Radiology: Training to perform limited-scope X-rays, position patients, follow safety protocols, document exams.
• Clinic Operations and Safety: Maintain clean front desk and treatment areas, participate in opening/closing, manage inventory, follow infection control and safety protocols, handle high-stress situations with professionalism.
