Job summary

Humana is seeking an Accountant 2 to join our Accounting Team supporting the Medicaid line of business. You will contribute to the month-end close for multiple Medicaid plans, prepare journal entries, reconcile ledgers, and analyze results against budget or forecast with cross-team collaboration.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 1+ year in accounting, and advanced Excel skills; SQL experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 1+ years of accounting/finance experience.
• Demonstrated experience with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries using data from data warehouse or data pulls.
• Record, analyze and report accounting transactions with accuracy and compliance.
• Support provider and vendor payment processes.
• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Present financial results and variance explanations to market partners.
• Assist with state reporting and audit requests.
• Support IT-related projects.
