Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking an intern in the Synergy and In-Memory Compute Mechanical/Thermal Engineering team at the Spring, TX campus. You will contribute to mechanical and thermal designs for Synergy compute hardware and IMC servers, collaborating with electrical, software, and marketing teams to deliver production-ready servers.

The role requires pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering, strong problem-solving skills, CAD experience, and the ability to interpret CFD reports.

Qualifications

  • Currently working toward a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (BSME)
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Works independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to understand and interpret Computational Fluid Dynamics reports
  • Understanding of microprocessor architecture and thermal profiles
  • Makes clear and effective presentations to inform and persuade
  • Communicates well verbally, in writing, and graphically
  • Computer literacy - spreadsheet, word processing, basic file structures, network, and web navigation familiarity
  • Ability to establish clear goals and formulate plans to achieve them
  • Excited about technology and has the desire to learn new tasks and technologies

Responsibilities

  • Developing and delivering cost effective mechanical and cooling designs that are best in class mechanically, thermally and acoustically
  • Working with system level design of mechanicals using CAD to design sheet metal and plastics and thermal designs
  • Daily use of materials science and mechanical design skills
  • Part of a program team with electrical, software, marketing and managers responsible for delivering a server to customers
