Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years of experience.
• Computer literate; MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, FEA, 2D/3D CAD (CATIA experience a plus).
• Demonstrated ability to dissect a problem to find the root cause, design a solution and create a test method to prove out the issue really is fixed.
• Enjoys getting hands dirty and building, testing and debugging tools throughout the development cycle.
• Experience with product development: Design, DFM, root cause analysis, test instrumentation and data acquisition and analysis.
• Quality – use of statistical tools, process capability, DOE’s, stack-ups.
• Coordination of internal and external resources.
• Accountable for managing the design process and owning the results.
• Enjoy fast-paced design cycles that average 2 years and a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the design process to meet quality, performance, schedule and cost objectives in a cross-functional environment.
• Perform hands-on concept development, prototyping, product testing, data collection and specification definition.
• Independently carry out advanced stack-ups and system analysis to ensure lifetime product functionality.
• Investigate design issues & test failures and implement corrective actions to components.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define customer requirements and translate them into product specs and test systems.
• Meet with suppliers and stakeholders to review designs and drive component and assembly design reviews.
• Work in a core team to develop a product from start to finish.
• Support prototype builds for engineering and manufacturing and initial production lots.
