Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking an Engineer for the Towson, MD area to advance DEWALT Cordless Tools. You will work on design, prototyping, testing, and optimization across the product lifecycle, collaborating with marketing, reliability, and field teams to deliver robust tools for major retailers worldwide.

You will contribute to stack-ups, system analyses, and documentation while traveling internationally as needed and supporting the global Tools & Storage group in Towson, MD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 1-3+ years of experience.
• Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, 2D/3D CAD, and FEA.
• Ability to dissect a problem to find root causes.
• Hands-on design, prototyping, testing, and debugging across development cycles.
• Statistical tools, DOE, stack-ups, GD&T.
• Coordination with internal resources for testing and analysis.
• Willing to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Support the design process to meet quality, performance, schedule and cost targets in a cross-functional team.
• Perform hands-on concept development, prototyping, testing and data collection.
• Carry out stack-ups and system analysis for consistent product assembly and function.
• Investigate design issues and test failures; implement corrective actions.
• Create 3D models to evaluate design options.
• Collaborate with Product Marketing, Reliability, and Field Research to define customer requirements.
