Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker in Towson, MD is seeking an Engineer to join the Global Tools & Storage team. You will support design, prototype, test, and analyze products across the DEWALT and STANLEY brands to meet quality, cost and schedule goals.

You’ll work hands-on from concept through testing, build 3D models, perform stack-ups, investigate failures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 1–3+ years of experience.
• Proficient in CAD/FEA and MS Office.
• Ability to dissect a problem to identify root causes and craft a solution.
• Experience with DOE, GD&T, stack-ups and testing.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support the design process to achieve quality, performance, schedule and cost objectives in a cross-functional environment.
• Perform hands-on concept development, prototyping, product testing, data collection and definition of product specifications.
• Carry out stack-ups and system analysis to ensure life-long functionality of assemblies.
• Investigate design issues & test failures, and implement corrective actions.
• Construct 3D models to evaluate design options.
• Collaborate with Product Marketing, Reliability and Field Research teams to define customer requirements and tests.
