Job summary

Actalent in Rockville, MD is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design building systems using Revit and support documentation across commercial, infrastructure, government, and healthcare projects.

You will perform load calculations with Trane Trace or Carrier HAP, conduct site visits, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure constructability and code compliance. This is a Contract-to-Hire hybrid position with office and remote days.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of mechanical engineering or mechanical design experience for building projects.
• Proficiency in Revit for mechanical design and documentation.
• Experience performing load calculations using Trane Trace or HAP.
• Ability to conduct site visits and assess existing conditions.
• Hybrid work arrangement with in-office and remote duties.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for building projects across sectors.
• Model designs in Revit to produce coordinated construction documents.
• Perform load calculations using Trane Trace or Carrier HAP.
• Conduct weekly site visits to assess conditions.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure constructability and integration.
• Use AutoCAD to support design and coordination.
• Maintain project documentation per company standards.
• Review and update designs based on site findings and stakeholder feedback.
