Job summary
Buro Happold is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our hybrid Washington, DC team. You will lead mechanical design across a portfolio of US and international projects, delivering detailed drawings, specifications, and reports while coordinating with clients and the design team.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Mechanical Engineering and HVAC experience, a relevant degree, and proficiency with Revit/Navisworks.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of mechanical engineering and HVAC experience.
- Ability to lead a project team and work independently.
- Broad mechanical engineering and environmental design knowledge.
- Experience on US and international projects; PE desirable.
Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed mechanical engineering design.
- Act as the mechanical lead on a portfolio of projects.
- Produce coordinated detailed drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Work independently and meet deadlines within budget.
- Plan and manage REVIT documentation of design work.
- Mentor Graduate Engineers and review calculations.
- Prepare technical specifications and construction documents.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and design teams.
- Communicate directly with clients and manage workload.
- Represent the firm at meetings under senior guidance.
- Monitor project financial performance and resourcing.
