Job summary

The Math School Support Specialist at RFCUNY partners with CUNY Early College Network schools to coach algebra teachers and lead math-focused professional development. This role emphasizes collaboration with principals, department leaders, and district staff to translate the Illustrative Math curriculum into effective instruction.

With 3–4 days in the field, you will visit schools, mentor teacher teams, and support leadership development while contributing to program growth and equity across NYC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education is required.
• Minimum five years as math leader/coach/curriculum specialist.
• Strong data-driven instructional planning and monitoring experience.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with school leaders to support algebra goals.
• Coach Algebra I/II teachers across a portfolio of schools.
• Collaborate to develop math resources and professional learning workshops.
• Support curriculum implementation and alignment between high school and post-secondary math.
• Analyze student data to inform instruction and planning.
• Coordinate learning walks and PLCs and assist with assessments.
