Job summary

IAT Insurance Group is seeking a Claims Counsel in its Management Liability Claims Unit. The role handles EPL, D&O, Fiduciary, and Crime claims nationwide with a hybrid schedule (office Mon-Wed, remote Thu-Fri) and potential for fully remote arrangements.

The ideal candidate has 3-7 years of management liability claim experience, JD, and licensure to practice in the working jurisdiction. Travel, licensure, and CPCU optional enhancements are expected.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required.
• Licensed to practice law in the working jurisdiction.
• 3-7 years of management liability claim experience (EPL, D&O, Fiduciary, Crime).
• Strong coverage analysis and drafting of coverage positions.
• Experience directing defense counsel and negotiating settlements.
• Willingness to travel up to 1 day per month.
• Claims licensure as required by state(s).
• CPCU or related studies beneficial.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not required.

Responsibilities

• Handle Management Liability Claims (EPL, D&O, Fiduciary, Crime) for Private and Non-Profit clients.
• Analyze, investigate, negotiate, and resolve claims within authority.
• Select, direct, and manage defense counsel and budget approvals.
• Develop litigation strategy and participate in mediations and trials.
• Verify coverage and draft position letters as needed.
• Prepare Large Loss Reports and management updates.
• Maintain 24-hour contact with stakeholders throughout claims life cycle.
• Identify recovery opportunities and reserves in line with guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulatory and customer service standards.
