Job summary

ConnectOne Bank is seeking a Loan Processor to support residential and consumer lending. You will review applications, order reports, verify information, provide disclosures, and assist in closing loans.

The role emphasizes a People First culture, high-volume prioritization, and collaboration with loan officers and branches. Excellent communication and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor.
• Knowledge of CNOB products and Residential/Consumer lending is preferred.
• Familiarity with federal and state banking regulations (e.g., BSA, CRA, GLBA, Reg E, US PATRIOT Act) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Bank’s “People First” focus and rules of engagement—maintaining a professional demeanor, working as an active member of the CNOB team, providing clients excellent service, always striving to make CNOB “A Better Place to Be”
• Review applications for completeness and investigate applicants’ backgrounds.
• Order credit reports (e.g., Experian, property search, appraisal, judgment search or other as deemed necessary) by a lending officer.
• Validate client information supplied on the application (e.g., employment and wage history, telephone numbers; send out Verification of Employment (VOE), Verification of Rent or Mortgage (VOM), Verification of Deposit (VOD)).
• Provide applicants with proper disclosures to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
• Assist in preparing loan closing documents; forward to assigned branches or attorneys.
• Create new loan files.
• Handle customer inquiries (phone and written correspondence) as related to their application status.
