Direct Counsel in Sacramento, CA is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join its Labor & Employment Practice Group. This full-time hybrid role blends litigation secretarial and paralegal duties for a well-established California firm.

Ideal candidates have substantial labor and employment litigation experience, advanced Excel skills, and proficiency with e-discovery and litigation software.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience supporting attorneys in Labor & Employment litigation.
• Advanced Excel skills and extensive experience with e-discovery and litigation software.
• Experience supporting at least three attorneys, including partner-level attorneys.
• Paralegal certificate required; CA Business and Professions Code §§ 6450–6456 may be considered.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain attorney calendars and coordinate court appearances, hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, client meetings, conferences, and travel.
• Monitor deadlines and filing requirements; prepare and file documents with state and federal courts.
• Assist with discovery, e-discovery, subpoenas, trial preparation, and courtroom support.
• Handle time entry, billing, and related administrative tasks; manage client/matter files in iManage.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff; provide cross-coverage as needed.
