Job summary

Miller Nash LLP in Portland, OR seeks a detail-oriented legal assistant with 5+ years of litigation experience to support our busy litigation practice in a modern, client-centered firm. This full-time hybrid role based in our Portland office offers collaboration with attorneys and mentorship for junior staff, with an emphasis on efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of litigation experience as a legal assistant or paralegal with Oregon filing experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook, with strong document handling.
• Experience with document management systems and e-filing (OECI, PACER/CM-ECF).
• Willingness to adopt AI tools to improve efficiency.
• Ability to file documents electronically and manually.
• Experience with Adobe and Excel is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys in litigation matters with a range of tasks.
• Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, briefs, orders, and subpoenas.
• Manage calendars and schedule hearings, motions, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Proofread and edit documents for grammar, spelling, and format.
• Review and file documents in compliance with Oregon and federal rules.
• Assist with general case management and document organization.
• Maintain documents in a secure document management system.
• Use firm-approved AI tools to improve drafting and review efficiency.
• Mentor less experienced team members; occasional overtime may apply.
