Job summary

Kane Partners LLC is seeking a Linux Telecom Support Engineer to support production platforms and collaborate with customer engineering teams to resolve complex issues.

The role emphasizes telecom background, Linux/RHEL production systems, SIP-based platforms, and cross-functional collaboration to troubleshoot applications and networks. The position is hybrid, based in Newark, NJ, with exposure to customer environments and logs/packet captures for issue resolution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting Linux-based systems.
• Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or another Linux distribution.
• Strong understanding of networking and SIP (Session Initiation Protocol).
• Ability to troubleshoot Linux servers, applications, and network issues.
• Experience gathering and analyzing logs and traces via the Linux command line.
• Ability to analyze Wireshark traces/packet captures and report findings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot day-to-day issues on production platforms.
• Diagnose Linux OS, application, and network issues.
• Apply fixes, patches, and updates to production platforms.
• Write detailed procedures for changes (MOPs).
• Participate in maintenance windows for upgrades and patching.
• Collaborate with customer engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Attend technical meetings with customers to review open issues.
