Job summary

Horace Mann is seeking a motivated Life & Retirement Advocate I to join our Life & Retirement Operations team in a hybrid role at the Springfield, IL office. You will process Life & Retirement transactions, support field sales and clients, and learn systems that drive efficient customer experiences.

Responsibilities span core transactions, customer & field support, systems proficiency, compliance, and ongoing professional development to advance in Life & Retirement products and industry

Qualifications

• H.S Diploma or GED equivalent, required.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field preferred, or comparable business-related education and experience preferred.
• Interest in developing knowledge of Life Insurance, Retirement products, and financial services operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time-management abilities.
• Ability to learn multiple systems, processes, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Strong commitment to accuracy, quality, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Process Life & Retirement Core and Auxiliary transactions with established quality and service standards.
• Develop proficiency in core and auxiliary functions as experience grows.
• Collaborate with flexible work group to maximize workflow efficiency and service delivery.
• Provide timely updates and manage expectations around service levels.
• Communicate professionally with clients and field sales team; deliver responsive service.
• Learn administrative systems and tools supporting Life & Retirement Operations.
• Adhere to FINRA, SEC, IRS, and other regulatory requirements; ensure quality and compliance.
