Job summary

Golden 1 Credit Union is seeking a strategic leader for Loss Mitigation and Payment Processing in Sacramento. The role combines data-driven reporting, operational oversight, and regulatory compliance to support member care and credit bureau reporting oversight.

You will lead a team, oversee payments and bankruptcy-related transactions, and drive automation and reporting improvements while ensuring accurate, timely processing and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or related field required.
• Equivalent job experience within a financial institution will also be considered.
• 7+ years management experience in consumer loans, commercial loans, and default management with banks, savings and loans, credit unions or other finance companies, including detailed knowledge of the repossession and remarketing in California required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Data Solutions Analysts and the Supervisor of Member Care Support; manage evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Oversee support functions for consumer and business loans; ensure timely posting of all transactions.
• Direct and oversee Amnesty program reporting.
• Manage and track vendor invoices and ensure timely payments within budget constraints.
• Manage processing of notices required by state and federal law; ensure compliance with policy and timely delivery.
• Set and monitor team performance goals; provide coaching to improve efficiency.
• Develop and maintain controls to ensure regulatory compliance and address deviations.
• Oversee all Member Care letters; conduct annual reviews and testing.
• Collaborate on yearly Recovery Rate Forecasting with Member Care Managers.
• Lead Data Solution Analysts in reporting; provide updates to Senior Leadership; automate reporting and processes.
• Act as SME on the Debt Manager system; oversee troubleshooting and strategic decisions.
• Foster engagement and career development; lead by example with transparent communication.
• Ensure operations comply with policies and regulatory guidelines; update procedures annually.
• Develop and deliver training for Data Solution Analysts and Supervisors.
• Respond to information requests from Senior Leadership and other internal departments.
• Understand regulatory requirements; mitigate inherent risks in line with risk appetite.
