Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a Laboratory Client Billing Specialist to collaborate with outreach partners and the laboratory revenue cycle, managing accounts receivable for laboratory clients and addressing billing questions or concerns.

The role supports timely collections, auditing invoices for accuracy, and delivering excellent customer service, all within a hybrid work environment in Murray, UT. 40-hour weeks with benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• Three years of medical laboratory billing or client account management experience.
• Demonstrated excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Demonstrated excellent management, financial, and analytical skills.
• Experience in role requiring effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Preferred: Experience leading group discussions and working broadly throughout an integrated healthcare organization with administration, hospital and medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes client accounts for compliance with Federal and State regulations as well as Intermountain requirements.
• On a regular and systematic basis, follow up with clients to ensure timely collections.
• Audit client accounts/invoices to ensure billing accuracy.
• Provide excellent customer service while using strong phone communication and listening skills.
• Ensure accuracy of outside lab invoices as well as the correct corresponding billing to patient/client accounts.
• Work with payment research to ensure laboratory payments are being allocated to the correct facility/department.
• Customer-oriented with the ability to adapt to various personalities and situations.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to enhance customer experience.
• Assist in maintaining and/or recovering client accounts
• Identify issues/trends with client orders that may negatively affect financials.
• Potentially meet with clients to discuss concerns or issues.
