Job summary

State of Tennessee's Department of Finance & Administration seeks a Learning & Development Trainer Intern in Nashville. This paid internship offers hands-on experience supporting employee training, developing materials, and assisting with virtual and in-person sessions.

Open to current students; hybrid schedule; 5-15 hours weekly; $20/hour; six-month assignment with possible extension; start early October.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Tennessee college or university in education, instructional design, human resources, communications, business, psychology, technology, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Ability to learn new technology and complete assignments accurately and on time.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a professional environment.
• Experience or knowledge with Canva, Learning Management Systems, Articulate 360/Rise, video editing, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, other AI tools, or virtual training platforms is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and delivery of virtual and in-person training.
• Create presentations, job aids, facilitator guides, quick-reference materials, and other learning resources.
• Assist with online course development and updates.
• Support trainers before, during, and after training sessions.
• Turn complex information into clear, easy-to-understand content.
• Maintain training calendars, course materials, and L&D resources.
• Participate in team meetings, projects, and special initiatives.
