Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Scientist to support ecological field surveys and data processing in the Mid-Atlantic region. The position may be based in PA, NJ, MD, or VA with hybrid work and a Spring/Summer 2027 start.

You will assist with wetland and stream assessments, coordinate with agencies, and help prepare permit documents while gaining broad exposure to our environmental projects and teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Biology, or related field.
• Valid US Driver's License and pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Responsibilities

• Assisting lead ecologists with stream, wetland, wildlife habitat assessments and other ecological surveys.
• Processing field data and developing ecological assessment reports using tablets, GPS and related tools.
• Coordinating with governmental agencies regarding survey protocols and reporting standards.
• Reviewing desktop information to complete environmental impact assessments.
• Learning field survey equipment, data forms and reporting tools under supervision.
• Assisting in preparing permit applications and other technical information.
• Collecting and analyzing data under supervision and using software for data management.
