Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior IT Category Manager to lead sourcing and vendor governance for IT hardware, software, and services. The role focuses on reducing total cost of ownership through effective strategies and rigorous vendor management.

You will partner with business owners and Corporate Services Vendor Contracting to prepare, analyze, and negotiate contracts and ensure vendor obligations align with business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT sourcing, procurement, or vendor management.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Establish sourcing strategies for IT hardware, software, and services.
• Conduct sourcing events with project work plans, category profiles, and evaluation criteria.
• Develop and manage RFx documents (RFP/RFI/RFQ) and track performance metrics.
• Forecast market dynamics and share knowledge within the product/services portfolio.
• Source products/services using proven tools, processes, and analytics to drive results.
• Evaluate analyses from a total cost of ownership perspective and provide optimization suggestions.
• Lead cross-functional teams in vendor negotiations and coordinate multiple agreements.
• Review and drive supplier relationship management and performance within the category.
• Establish and foster relationships with vendor personnel; drive engagement through formal and informal channels.
• Coordinate and host vendor business reviews; track yearly vendor plans and compliance.
• Coordinate vendor risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
• Escalate vendor contractual issues and ensure regulatory compliance with internal stakeholders.
