Job summary

Selective Insurance is offering an 11-week, full-time Summer Internship Program for students majoring in Computer Science or Software Engineering. The program provides on-the-job assignments, team projects, and exposure to senior leadership, with a hybrid work setup requiring commuting distance to Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC.

You will work with experienced engineers on building software solutions, using modern tech stacks, cloud platforms, and Agile practices, including a community volunteer

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a computer science/software engineering related program.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to design, build, and test software for Commercial Lines.
• Contribute to projects using modern tech stacks, cloud platforms, and Agile methodologies.
• Explore Generative AI tools and APIs to enhance processes and customer experiences.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and stand-ups to learn professional software practices.
• Work on an Action Learning Project addressing a real business challenge.
