Job summary

Canadian Solar is seeking an IT Infrastructure Support Intern to help keep our data assets accessible, secure, and well-supported across a hybrid Walnut Creek office. You will assist with small IT infrastructure projects, hardware/software rollouts, and user support, while learning from senior IT staff.

The role requires ongoing pursuit of a computer science degree, plus familiarity with Windows, Intune, Azure AD, and ITIL/PM concepts.

Qualifications

• Working towards a diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Computer Sciences or equivalent.
• Microsoft certifications are a desirable asset.
• Coursework or certification in IT service management (ITIL) or project management fundamentals is an asset.
• Familiarity with IT standards, documentation, and ensuring compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordination of small-scale IT infrastructure projects, including scheduling, documentation, and communication with internal stakeholders.
• Support the planning and execution of hardware/software rollouts, office moves, and system upgrades in collaboration with senior IT staff.
• Track project tasks, update timelines, and report on progress to ensure deliverables are met.
• Participate in team meetings to provide updates, identify risks, and recommend process improvements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment between IT infrastructure goals and business objectives.
• Configure workstation PCs using Microsoft Autopilot and Intune.
• Provide support and technical guidance on first-level support tickets and issue escalation.
• Document processes and create knowledge base articles to provide self-service to end users.
• Identify security risks and ensure they are effectively handled or escalated when required.
• Provide technical guidance and support to end-users, assisting with IT Infrastructure-related inquiries and issues.
• Ensure all problems are logged and tracked in the IT ticketing system in accordance with agreed-upon service levels.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and resolve issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations.
