Job summary

Metro’s Information Technology department seeks an Infrastructure & Operations Manager to lead the Systems and Support teams, ensuring dependable and secure technology across Metro's offices, venues, and campuses. The role drives modernization, automation, and AI adoption while partnering with cybersecurity and business leaders.

You will manage a hybrid environment, oversee budgeting and vendor strategy, and guide capacity planning to keep critical services available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience leading or supervising technical staff in IT infrastructure or IT operations.
• 2+ years managing IT infrastructure projects such as migrations, consolidations, upgrades, or system implementations.

Responsibilities

• Lead Metro's Systems and Support teams across 14 staff, through two direct-report supervisors.
• Keep Metro's systems dependable and secure, with on-call and major incident escalation.
• Strengthen resilience and availability including backup and disaster recovery.
• Mature IT service management with change, incident, and problem practices.
• Introduce infrastructure as code, observability, and shared documentation for easier support.
• Own lifecycle and architecture decisions for Metro's systems and workloads.
• Lead AI adoption in operations and build team capabilities.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity leadership to meet security needs.
• Translate technology decisions for non-technical stakeholders and planners.
• Develop and manage the infrastructure and operations budget and vendor strategy.
• Plan capacity and balance in-house work vs vendors.
• Own major infrastructure initiatives and capital investments and deliver value.
