Placements24 in Welkom is hiring a Helpdesk Technician to provide first and second-line IT support for staff. You will diagnose hardware, software, and network issues, document resolutions, and assist with asset management in a hybrid office/remote environment.

The ideal candidate has proven helpdesk experience, strong Windows/macOS knowledge, and effective communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Helpdesk Technician or similar IT support role.
• Strong hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS) and software knowledge.
• Familiarity with network troubleshooting and IT infrastructure.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+ are a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model and travel to Welkom as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide first and second-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in-person.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, and other peripherals.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access to network resources.
• Document all support requests, actions taken, and resolutions in the IT ticketing system.
• Assist with IT asset management, including inventory and deployment of new equipment.
