Job summary

Southwest Power Pool (SPP) is seeking a Summer 2027 Computer Science / Information Technology Intern for a 10–12 week hybrid program in the IT department. The role offers practical hands-on IT experience and exposure to several IT areas while delivering a final presentation on lessons learned.

Applicants should be a college student entering their senior year with a CS or MIS focus and a minimum 3.0 GPA, and must be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• College student entering their Sr. year working toward a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
• An expressed desire to work in the Power industry
• 3.0 GPA or above

Responsibilities

• IT Concepts and Tools: develop fundamental understanding of IT systems concepts and software used in the area of responsibility
• IT Responsibilities: complete assignments directed by IT lead or committees and IT support efforts
• Teamwork and Leadership Skills: provide basic technical support to help project groups meet time schedules
• SPP Culture and Core Values: embrace the SPP culture, mission and core values in attitude toward stakeholder relationships and long-term goals of the organization.
