NextPlay Jobs in Rosemont, IL is seeking an Information Security Analyst II to join our Technology Services team. The role combines hands-on security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation in a hybrid setup with two onsite days per month after training.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years IT experience, at least 3 years in cybersecurity, and strong knowledge of Windows/Microsoft 365, SIEM, and security technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
• 5-7 years of IT experience, including at least 3 years in cybersecurity or information security.
• Minimum 3 years of systems administration and/or network administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, administer, and maintain cybersecurity technologies, including SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, DLP, and threat monitoring platforms.
• Investigate security alerts, suspicious activity, and potential breaches, coordinating incident containment, remediation, and recovery efforts.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments across networks, endpoints, cloud environments, applications, and external-facing systems.
• Identify, prioritize, and track security vulnerabilities while collaborating with internal IT teams to implement corrective actions.
• Maintain security monitoring, logging, and alerting across Microsoft 365, Windows-based infrastructure, cloud services, and critical applications.
• Coordinate penetration testing, security assessments, and remediation activities with internal teams and external vendors.
• Support cybersecurity governance, risk assessments, audits, and compliance initiatives, including PCI requirements.
• Develop and maintain security policies, incident response procedures, technical documentation, and cybersecurity reporting.
• Administer security awareness initiatives, including employee training, phishing simulations, and cybersecurity communications.
• Evaluate emerging security threats and technologies, recommend improvements, and participate in cybersecurity projects.
